How do I book?

Pick your dates and open the flat; the calendar shows the free nights and the panel beside it gives you the total. Enter your details, complete the payment, and the booking is settled with your code on screen. No agency, no commission — you are booking with us directly.

Do I get my money back if I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Cancel more than 14 days before arrival and you get everything back; up to 3 days before, half. Inside the last three days there is no refund. The terms are frozen onto your booking, so even if we change the policy later, yours stays as it was on the day you booked.

Question 3

How do I pay, and do you keep my card details?

Card payments happen on iyzico's own secure page with 3-D Secure. Your card details never touch our server — we only see whether the payment succeeded. If you would rather pay by bank transfer, write to us and we will send the account details.

Question 4

What is the minimum stay?

Most dates take a single night. In busy periods and on some weekends the minimum goes up; if you pick a range that does not work, the site tells you how many nights those dates need.

Can I change my booking?

Write to us and we will look. Moving the dates depends on the new ones being free and may change the price. Things like the number of guests or a correction to a name are usually straightforward. Just quote your booking code.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is between 15:00 and 23:00, check-out by 11:00. If your flight lands early or leaves late you can leave your bags with us — tell us beforehand so someone is there.

What is in the flat?

Each flat is 45 m² with a king bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, air conditioning and fast wifi. Towels, linen, soap and the kitchen basics are there. Coffee and tea are on us. The building's historic fabric was kept through the restoration; there is a sitting corner and a balcony.

How many people can stay?

The flats are for two. The fourth-floor flat also takes two children. If you are a larger group you can book more than one flat for the same dates — they are all in the same building, up the same stairs.

Pets, smoking, a cot?

Small dogs and cats are welcome — tell us before you book and we will say which flat suits. No smoking inside; the balcony is fine. A cot and a high chair are available on request if you let us know in advance.

How often is the flat cleaned?

The flat is cleaned thoroughly before you arrive. On longer stays we come in for a mid-stay clean and change the linen; on short stays we can still come if you would like — just ask.

What is Galata like?

Galata is the old stone-built, narrow-laned part of Beyoğlu. On one side the crowds of İstiklal Avenue; on the other the Golden Horn and the historic peninsula across the water. Our street is quiet — cafés, small shops and the instrument makers are all within walking distance. Evenings are lively, but the noise stops at the door.

When is the best time to visit Istanbul?

April–June and September–November are the kindest: warm, and the crowds are manageable. July and August can be hot and humid, though the flats are air-conditioned. Winter is cold and wet, but the city is calm and prices drop — worth it if you want Galata with empty streets.

Question 13

Money, cards and tipping — how does it work?

Accepted Answer

Cards work almost everywhere; carry some cash for small shops, taxis and markets. Exchange offices in the city give better rates than the ones at the airport. Around 10% is normal in restaurants; in a café leaving the change is enough.

I do not speak Turkish — is that a problem?

No. English is common in Beyoğlu and you will manage in cafés and shops. We write in Turkish and English and get by in a few more — if something comes up, message us on WhatsApp in your own language and we will sort it.

What is within walking distance?

Galata Tower is 2 minutes away, İstiklal Avenue 1, the Galata Bridge 5. Cross the bridge and you are at Eminönü, the Spice Bazaar and the historic peninsula — Hagia Sophia and Sultanahmet are about half an hour on foot. Karaköy's coffee places and fish restaurants are five minutes downhill.

Where should we eat?

There are small family-run places on the side streets — the best lunch you will have. Karaköy for fish and meze; around Galata, breakfast places and third-wave coffee. Some of the evening spots need a table booked; tell us what you fancy and we will point you there or reserve it.

Should I buy a museum pass?

Accepted Answer

If you will see more than four museums in three days a museum pass usually pays for itself, and it skips the ticket queue. For just Hagia Sophia and Topkapı, single tickets make more sense. Transport needs its own card — the two are not the same thing.

What about a Bosphorus trip?

Rather than a tourist boat, take a city ferry: the same view, a fraction of the price, and the crowd is real. Getting on at Karaköy and crossing to Üsküdar or Beşiktaş is a half-hour trip in itself. Time it for sunset.

How do I get here from the airport?

Both airports are outside the city; expect 45 minutes to an hour and a half depending on traffic. The easiest is a transfer arranged beforehand — we can book one and you are met at arrivals. The airport buses bring you to Taksim, and from there it is a walk or a short taxi. With luggage, finding a taxi in the narrow streets can be awkward in the evening.

How far is the metro?

Şişhane metro station is a 5-minute walk, and the M2 line reaches most of the city from there. The tram stop at Karaköy is about 7 minutes downhill and runs straight to the historic peninsula. The Tünel funicular is there for the days you would rather not walk up the hill.

Can I park if I drive?

The building has no car park; there is a covered one 200 metres away, charged per night. Honestly, driving in these narrow streets is more trouble than it is worth, and most of our guests do not — the metro and the ferries are faster.

Is the street steep? Will I struggle with luggage?

Accepted Answer

Galata is a hill, let us be honest about it. Our street is short but sloped, and the building has no lift. If your luggage is heavy, ask the taxi to come right to the door — and tell us when you are arriving, so we are there.
